Love's Offering DEF at Pump at All Locations

Completes installations at 254 sites nationwide

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc. now offers diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) at the pump for professional truck drivers at all of its 245 travel stops across the country.

Love's began installing DEF at the pump on diesel islands in 2011 and completed its rollout to all travel stops this month.

"With construction at all Love's Travel Stops now complete, our trucking customers have the certainty of knowing they can fill their DEF tanks at every Love's where they fuel," said Jon Archard, director of fuel marketing at Love's. "Having DEF at the pump allows Love's customers to not only purchase DEF in a far more cost effective way than buying jugs, but also gets them back on the road much quicker. By purchasing through a billing card or RFID tag at the fuel bay, drivers also get the reporting controls they need to track their DEF purchases more accurately."

This combination of DEF at the pump and RFID technology at every Love's Travel Stop gives customers the most efficient stop possible. As the first retailer to offer both of these services across its nationwide network, Love's shows it is dedicated to innovative solutions for its customers.

"With our fleet's expedited freight base, we have to limit the number of stops the truck makes in order to make a delivery on time," said Bret McKinney, senior fuel manager for CRST Expedited. "In the past, this has been difficult when we had to search for locations that have adequate DEF availability. Knowing that all Love's locations have DEF right at the pump is valuable and eliminates a headache for the fleet."

In addition to the convenience of DEF at the pump, Love's locations sell DEF in containers. Family-owned and -operated Love's, based in Oklahoma City, has more than 300 locations and 175 Love's Truck Tire Care centers in 39 states. It said that it will open 25 new travel stops in 2013.
