Nebraska Iowa Supply Teams With VP Racing Fuels

Will offer retail branding program at four gas stations, travel plazas

OMAHA, Neb. -- Officials at Nebraska Iowa (NEIA) Supply Co., Omaha, Neb., have signed on with VP Racing Fuels' national branding program. The wholesale sites supported by NEIA present an opportunity for VP to expand its retail brand in Nebraska and Iowa.

"We are privileged to welcome Nebraska Iowa Supply Co. to our growing list of top-notch fuel distributors nationwide," said Alan Cerwick, president of VP Racing Fuels. "Their buy-in demonstrates the power of the VP retail brand and our ability to deliver the highest competitive advantage to date."

Matt Lippincott, operations manager of Nebraska Iowa Supply Co., said, "The VP Retail brand not only gives us a very sharp image, but the luxury of buying unbranded product when retail margins are extremely competitive in our market. There also appear to be tremendous savings with their credit-card processing program, which will help increase the bottom line considerably for our dealers."

He added, "We are excited to continue our relationship with the VP team and start bringing the VP Retail brand to the Midwest."

San Antonio-based VP Racing Fuels is a leader in race fuel technology for every form of motorsports. It is the Official Racing Fuel of NHRA Championship Drag Racing, American Le Mans, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and Late Model Series and Rally America, among more than 60 VP-sponsored series and sanctioning bodies. Nebraska Iowa Supply Co. was founded in 1926 and currently operates from its base in Omaha as a distributor/retailer of petroleum and related products in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. Currently, half of Nebraska Iowa Supply's sales are wholesale to independent associate marketers, while the other half include direct retail sales at its corporate owned c-stores as well as bulk fuels and lubricants to farm, home, industrial and commercial accounts.

The company has diversified into tire distribution, heating equipment sales and service, automotive parts, family restaurants and convenience stores. Capital gained from the spinoff of some of these various branches aided the continued expansion and modernization of the various phases of the wholesale distribution and retail sales of gasoline, fuels and lubricants, it said.

Wholesale sales to independent associate marketers who own and operate their own facilities currently represent 50% of its volume. Direct retail operations at Petromart Omaha, Petromart I, and Petromart II in Blair, Neb., Petromart Travel Plaza/The Junction Cafe, Missouri Valley Iowa, Dave's World, Onawa, Iowa, along with branch office/warehouse locations in Omaha and Norfolk, Neb., consisting of bulk truck operations distributing fuels and lubricants directly to farm, home, industrial and commercial accounts in the Omaha and Norfolk areas represent the other 50%, it said.
