Newman Named NYACS Chairman

NOCO exec appointed to lead New York Association of Convenience Stores
TONAWANDA, N.Y. -- Michael F. Newman, executive vice president, NOCO Energy Corp. was recently appointed chairman of the New York Association of Convenience Stores (NYACS) for a one-year term. As chairman, Newman is the chief elected officer of NYACS and sets the tone and direction for the association. In addition, he presides over meetings of the general membership, the NYACS Retail Board, executive committee and joint meetings.

Newman succeeds Peter Conley, vice president and retail manager for United Refining Co., Warren, Pa.

NYACS is governed by a board of directors [image-nocss] made up of 25 leading convenience retailers from around the state. It also has an advisory board of supplier associate members.

Founded in 1986, Albany-based NYACS is a private, not-for-profit association dedicated to unifying, serving and representing the convenience store industry of New York state. NYACS' membership consists of 250 companies that operate more than 1,500 convenience store locations across the state.

Tonawanda, N.Y.-based NOCO owns and operates a diverse group of businesses primarily focused on the sale and distribution of energy and petroleum products. For more than 70-years, NOCO has provided the Western New York community with heating fuels and customer service. NOCO distributes a full line of commercial fuels, industrial lubricants, bio-products, home energy fuel, and heating and cooling systems. The company also operates more than 30 NOCO Express gas stations and convenience stores throughout Western New York.
