Car Charging Group will install, manage, maintain and own the EV charging stations on Walgreens properties throughout the United States. The EV stations on Walgreens properties will provide flexible payment options, the ability to make reservations and tracking of customer usage patterns, energy use, costs and revenues, all via the ChargePoint Network's cloud-based software service plans for managing EV charging operations.

Car Charging Group's EV services installation will also provide Walgreens customers with access to ChargePoint Network's 24/7 driver support and mobile phone applications, which include station location and real-time availability, reservations, turn-by-turn navigation and charging status.

"We have convenient locations along many major commuting corridors and Walgreens is well positioned to be an ideal host for EV charging stations," said Walgreens President of Community Management and Operations Mark Wagner. "As a provider of health and wellness services in communities, we are pleased to be a destination for adopters of this green technology and for those committed to reducing their impact on the environment."

Michael Farkas, CEO of Miami Beach, Fla.-based Car Charging Group, said, "A network of public charging stations is essential in alleviating the fear of range anxiety. Forward-thinking companies such as Walgreens, understand the importance of publicly and conveniently located EV charging station infrastructure, and by installing this eco-friendly amenity will be able to offer their customers a chance to charge their EVs."

Car Charging Group provides EV charging stations at no charge to property owners/managers while retaining ownership, thus allowing their partners to offer their customers, tenants and employees charging services with no out-of-pocket expenses. In addition, Car Charging Group's partners realize a percentage of the charging revenue generated by the charging services paid for by the EV owners--customers, tenants and employees.

Coulomb Technologies, a leading EV charging solutions company, provides two key components for success with EV charging services: ChargePoint Network, the largest online network connecting EV drivers to charging stations and handling all billing and driver support; and the ChargePoint service plans, web-based solutions that give organizations the control and flexibility they need to provide lasting and successful charging services. Coulomb Technologies customers include large employers such as Google and SAP; utilities such and Orlando Utilities Commission and Austin Energy; municipalities such as City of San Francisco and City of New York; large shopping centers such as South Coast Plaza, Fashion Island and Bellevue Square; and parking services providers such as Edison Properties, Priority Parking and InterPark.

Open to all charging station manufacturers, Campbell, Calif.-based Coulomb's ChargePoint Network is currently providing more than 26,000 charging sessions per month, dispensing more than115 Megawatt hours (MWh) of energy each month, and doubling the electric transportation fuel dispensed each quarter.

Car Charging Group is an owner and provider of EV charging stations with the mission to establish a nationwide infrastructure, enabling EV and PHEV owners to charge their EVs anytime, anywhere. As part of its strategy, it owns, provides, installs and maintains EV charging units and works with its landowner partners to identify appropriate locations for its charging stations. The company provides convenient, safe and affordable charging stations away from home in customer-friendly public locations, including municipalities, shopping malls, parking garages, multi family residential and commercial properties.

Deerfield, Ill.-based Walgreens is the nation's largest drugstore chain with fiscal 2010 sales of $67 billion. The company operates 7,733 drugstores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
