Redi-Marts Ready to Reopen?

Some of the Albuquerque-area c-stores may operate under same or new brand
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--Some 35 Chevron Redi-Mart convenience stores in Albuquerque, N.M., were scheduled to close. Now some of those stores could be re-opening, reported KOB-TV. A district court judge recently awarded Trigild Inc., a San Diego-based company, possession and control over the stores, said the report.

Trigild president Bill Hoffman said that he believes there are still six Redi-Mart stores still open. He said that he is in the process right now of determining how many more will reopen.

"Part of that depends on determining what the costs are, some of the stores [image-nocss] obviously must have been losing some money," Hoffman told the media outlet.

He added that he will talk with the bank lender to figure out how many stores will reopen. But right now, he has no idea whether they will reopen under another brand.

Ever-Ready Oil Co. Inc., Albuquerque, said in late May that it was closing 23 area Chevron-branded gas stations.

Employees said all they could say was that the company was going out of business. Employees said they were liquidating all of the merchandise, including the gasoline.
