Riiser Energy Adding CNG Fueling Facility

Unit located at Rib Mountain Travel Center to open in late spring

WAUSAU, Wis. -- Riiser Energy said it is installing a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling site at the Rib Mountain Travel Center in conjunction with Salt Lake City-based Trillium, a joint venture between Integrys Transportation Fuels LLC and Paper Transport Inc. The Rib Mountain Travel Center is located off of Highway 51/I39 at Exit 188 in Rib Mountain, Wis.

Due to winter construction issues, Riiser Energy anticipates that the facility will be operational in late spring.

CNG is a substitute for diesel fuel. The economics are most beneficial for high-fuel-usage vehicles, such as those used by regional trucking companies, petroleum haulers, buses, waste companies and transit fleets. Truck engines may be modified and/or purchased to accommodate this new emerging fuel source at a reasonable cost. CNG offers substantial savings for these vehicles compared to diesel or gasoline, the company said.

It added that CNG can be a cleaner-burning fuel than diesel, reducing vehicle emissions and an operator's carbon footprint. And because CNG is produced from domestic, natural gas, using equipment from American manufacturers, it is almost exclusively made in the United States.

The TrilliumHD technology that will be installed at Rib Mountain Travel Center is designed to offer fast fueling times and consistent operation, said Riiser Energy.

Through its Retail Gas Division and Travel Center Division, Wausau, Wis.-based Riiser Energy owns and operates 24 Mobil- or BP-branded convenience stores, two BP-branded truckstops and one restaurant (Hwy 51 Truck Stop Restaurant), a fleet of 25 delivery trucks and employs nearly 350 associates.

The company's Retail Dealer Division services 75 branded and unbranded fuel retailers who own and operate their own facilities. These independent businesses include c-stores, full-service fuel and repair facilities and travel centers. In addition to supplying petroleum products to these businesses, the staff of the division act as business counselors and as liaison between the branded supplier and the independent dealer.
