RKA Petroleum Appoints New CFO

Gurizzian promoted from corporate controller

ROMULUS, Mich. -- RKA Petroleum Cos. Inc., a leader in the fuel transportation and services industry, has announced the promotion of David M. Gurizzian from the company's corporate controller to its chief financial officer.

Gurizzian, with a strong foundation and more than 24 years experience working in the finance and tax industry, joined RKA Petroleum in 2008.

RKA mostly credits Gurizzian for successfully improving financial performance through cost reduction and customer margin analysis as well as improving productivity through the development of departmental and [image-nocss] organizational measurables, and for his team building skills.

As CFO, Gurizzian is responsible for managing RKA's financial and strategic planning, budget development and cost management, banking relationships, data analysis, treasury management and more for RKA Petroleum Cos. Inc., as well as its two sister companies, Rex Carriers Inc. and Land & Sea Petroleum Inc.

Gurizzian now reports to Rick Enright, president of RKA Petroleum.

"David brings a wealth of experience in the operational excellence of finance as well as oversight in the management of treasury, tax, budgeting and planning functions. We are quite confident that he will more than exceed the demands of being a CFO for our growing company," said Keith Albertie, executive vice president of RKA Petroleum, Romulus, Mich.

Prior to joining RKA Petroleum, Gurizzian worked for a large tier-one automotive supplier, where he was director of finance. His diverse background also includes holding the position of controller for a hospital and leading the sale of one of Michigan's largest home healthcare agencies.

In other company news, earlier this month, RKA Petroleum met with Michigan gubernatorial candidate Pete Hoekstra. Keith Albertie, executive vice president of RKA Petroleum, who is very active in local politics through "Mitten Men," a political action committee based in Birmingham, Mich., made arrangements for a "Pete Hoekstra Meet & Greet" for several of his fellow RKA executive members. This meeting took place at RKA's corporate headquarters in Romulus.

Conversations included everything from building a stronger business economy, job creation, better schools and taxes, to alternative fuels and the government subsidies associated with them.

"He gave us an impressive insight and a better understanding regarding his position on the many issues, which included the future of energy, fuel and biodiesel within our great State of Michigan," said Albertie.

RKA Petroleum is a leader in distribution of refined and renewable fuel products and provides fuel management solutions to commercial, industrial and government customers in 24 states. RKA serves the retail industry in Florida, Michigan and Ohio.

Headquartered in Romulus, Rex Carriers offers logistics management throughout 24 states and Ontario, Canada; headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Land & Sea Petroleum distributes refined fuel products in Florida.
