ONEIDA, N.Y. -- In response to what it said is strong demand for non-ethanol gasoline, SavOn has converted its convenience store in Oneida to offer ethanol-free fuel only. Ethanol-added fuel is still available at a nearby Oneida SavOn store.
This latest store adds to other SavOn Stores offering non-ethanol gasoline including the Verona store, the Oneida Lake store and another location in Oneida. Marion Manor Marina and Mariner's Landing Marina also sell the non-ethanol fuel.
"At SavOn, we are always looking for ways to meet the needs of our guests. Making non-ethanol fuel more widely available is just one step of the SavOn stores evolution to provide a convenient shopping experience and a more diverse range of products," SavOn operations director Sean Brown said.
Since the introduction of ethanol-blended fuels, many users have struggled with fuel separation during storage and in wet environments as well as poor engine performance. Non-ethanol fuel is popular with snowmobile enthusiasts and people who own ATVs, boats and classic cars, the retailer said. Homeowners also like this fuel for small-engine machinery such as snowblowers, lawnmowers and chainsaws.
SavOn Stores, Marion Manor Marina and Mariner's Landing Marina are enterprises of the Oneida Indian Nation, based in Oneida, N.Y.
