Sheetz Fuel, Food Carrier Receives ATA Honor

CLI Transport takes American Trucking Association's highest safety award for third time

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc.'s CLI Transport LP (CLI), the chain's dedicated fuel and food carrier, has again received the American Trucking Association (ATA) President's Trophy for attaining the highest standards of safety for 2012.

CLI was evaluated by the ATA's Safety and Loss Prevention Management Council. The council presents awards each year to motor carriers in the United States in three categories: under 25 million miles, 25 million to 100 million miles and more than 100 million miles. CLI Transport was recognized in the under 25-million-miles category.

This is the third year that CLI has received the award recognizing superior safety achievements, outstanding commitment to industry-wide safety and extensive promotion of safety among all highway users.

According to CLI president Buddy Casado, the award recognizes not only the company's safe driving record, but also CLI's comprehensive safety program.

"The award is about our entire safety program from compliance and safety policies to driver training and vehicle maintenance," Casado said. "It takes the dedicated efforts of our entire team of administration, drivers and management to earn this type of award."

Sheetz has a fleet of 95 tanker trucks and 50 distribution trucks that deliver products to 429 Sheetz locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina.
