SIGMA to Honor Fallen Soldiers

Will hold wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery
FAIRFAX, Va. -- SIGMA said that its members will take part in a special wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, November 3, during the 2011 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. All meeting attendees and guests are welcome to attend this once-in-a-lifetime event.

The Tomb of the Unknowns symbolizes American soldiers who gave their lives in World War I, World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam in defense of the Nation's integrity, honor, and tranquility. Numerous ceremonies including wreath-layings are performed at the Tomb [image-nocss] to honor these soldiers and to show the nation's respect for members of the United States Armed Forces.

The Tomb of the Unknowns has been perpetually guarded since July 2, 1937, by the U.S. Army. The 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment ("The Old Guard") began guarding the Tomb April 6, 1948.

SIGMA's Annual Meeting is scheduled for November 3-6, 2011, at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC.
