Spatco Acquires Mid South Pump Sales

Fuel-equipment distributor expands footprint across Southeast

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two Southeastern fuel-equipment distributors have joined forces.

Spatco petroleum

Spatco Petroleum Solutions, Charlotte, N.C., a division of Spatco Energy Solutions, has acquired Mid South Pump Sales & Service, a Nashville, Tenn.-based distributor of Wayne and Veeder-Root fueling equipment.

Spatco Petroleum offers equipment ranging from underground storage tanks and piping to fuel dispensers, point-of-sale systems and back-office inventory systems to customers including major oil companies, convenience stores, oil jobbers and hypermarkets. It represents brands such as Wayne, Husky and OPW.

Mid South, which also has an office in Jackson, Tenn., was established 40 years ago. The distributor evolved from a designer and builder of gas stations into a full-service petroleum equipment provider, offering installation, parts, equipment and service in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Kentucky. Its clients include c-store chain Mapco, Brentwood, Tenn., which has more than 470 sites in seven Southeastern states.

With the acquisition, Mid South co-owner Garland Bissinger will join Spatco Petroleum.

“We welcome the alignment with Spatco as the next and most logical step in the evolution of our industry and long history at Mid South,” said Bissinger. “The combination of these two respected organizations is a natural fit that will allow our combined teams to exceed the growing demands of our valued customers.”

“As long-time industry colleagues, we are pleased to work with Garland and his team,” said Jeff Dailey, president and CEO of Spatco Energy. “We share an appreciation of high-quality equipment and customer service.”
