SuperAmerica, Minnesota Wild Announce New Partnership

Offering fans discounted gas prices following home hockey games

WOODBURY, Minn. -- SuperAmerica, which has 233 company-owned or franchised fueling and convenience stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota, has announced a new multi-year partnership with the National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild, offering fans a discounted price for gasoline purchased after home games.

Fans attending Wild games at Xcel Energy Center can take their game ticket into any participating SuperAmerica store in Minnesota following the game and receive cents off the price of every gallon of gas purchased equivalent to the number of goals scored by the Wild. The discount is good from right after the game through midnight of the day following a game.

For example, if Minnesota scores five goals against its opponent at a game on a Tuesday evening, fans would receive a discount of five cents per gallon on gasoline purchases through midnight Wednesday, the day after the Tuesday game.

The promotion officially launched last week and will continue throughout the remainder of the season. This promotion is not valid at SuperAmerica locations in Wisconsin and South Dakota.

"We are pleased to announce this new partnership, which brings together two respected and well-known Minnesota brands to create an exciting, money-saving offer for our customers," said Jack Helmick, vice president of retail for Woodbury, Minn.-based SuperAmerica. "Wild fans now have an added incentive to cheer on the scoring of their team since they will also score additional savings at SuperAmerica when the game is over."

Additional elements of the Wild/SuperAmerica partnership include advertising in the arena, during radio broadcasts, Wild promotions in SuperAmerica stores and arena promotional offers to be announced as the season goes on.

"We are excited to announce our new partnership with SuperAmerica," said Matt Majka, Minnesota Wild COO. "This partnership provides Wild fans with another great reason to visit SuperAmerica stores after every home game."

Helmick noted that the partnership with the Minnesota Wild is part of SuperAmerica's strategy focusing on customer loyalty and Midwestern heritage. "SuperAmerica has loyal customers--My SA Rewards members and the Minnesota Wild have loyal fans throughout the state. It's a perfect fit for both brands."
