Tri Star's Fuel Giveaway

Southeast chain awards free Shell gas through the fall in latest contest

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tri Star Energy LLC's Twice Daily and Daily's convenience stores are giving away $500 of free gasoline each week through the end of the December. The contest, sponsored by Tri Star Energy LLC, Nashville, Tenn., which operates 71 c-stores in Tennessee and southern Kentucky, awards $500 worth of Shell gasoline cards to winners.

Daily's win gas weekly

The contest is open to legal residents of Tennessee or Kentucky who are 18 years or older at the time of entry.

To participate, customers enter the "Coca-Cola Word of the Week" printed on their receipt from any Twice Daily or Daily's store--or shared by a guest service representative--at the contest website, www.WinGasWeekly.com. Each Sunday evening, Tri Star Energy randomly picks one winner from the past week's entries and awards $500 worth of gasoline. Each week presents a new chance to win.

The chain has so far collected 10,000 entries to the contest, which launched in early September and runs through Dec. 29. It anticipates hitting 20,000 entries by its end. According to Tom Woodard, director of communications, Twice Daily and Daily's store managers and employees have already heard compelling stories from some of the winners.

"One such example is a single mom who really needed the gas money to get to and from work," said Woodard. Another contest winner, who happened to be disabled and could not drive, planned to spend his $500 toward in-store purchases.

Tri Star Energy is promoting the contest in multiple outlets, including outdoor billboards, radio advertising, on social media--Facebook and Twitter--via e-mail, on Twice Daily's Pump Top TV, window clings and display signage, customer receipts and buttons worn by Twice Daily's staff.
