Wright Express Unveils Pump Shut-Off

Gives fleet managers more control over driver spending

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine -- Wright Express Corp., a leading global provider of business payment processing and information management solutions, has announced a new pump shut-off feature giving fleet managers more control over drivers' fuel spending. Pump shut-off helps fleets increase operational efficiency, identify and reduce transaction fraud and better manage costs.

It is currently available at most participating merchant locations, including 76, CITGO, Conoco, ExxonMobil, Marathon, Phillips 66, Sheetz and QuikTrip.

"The new pump shut-off feature enables our fleet customers to increase their level of control, flexibility and protection to create a customized fuel transaction," said David D. Maxsimic, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Wright Express. "The financial and security implication of fueling mass vehicles puts fleet customers at greater exposure for fraud, misuse and policy violations, which increases financial risk. With this new automated process, the customers' burden of monitoring each transaction for fraud is eliminated, allowing them to save time and money."

Putting the control and flexibility in customers' hands, Wright Express approves fuel transactions up to the maximum dollar amount the customer has defined for the card in use, and then the pump is closed for that individual transaction. As fuel prices fluctuate, customers also have the ability to adjust dollar amounts across pre-selected time periods.

Through WEXOnline, Wright Express' online fleet management tool, customers can also set real-time alerts, instantly gaining the ability to be alerted to potential fraud or misuse. They will be able to access increased fuel site acceptance within the Wright Express proprietary fuel network.

"The new level of functionality reinforces our position as a leading innovator in the fleet management space," added Maxsimic. "The Wright Express network provides optimal coverage to serve any customer need and the new pump shut-off feature is the latest offering to continue to steer us ahead in the marketplace."

The pump shut-off feature will be available to fleet customers which use Wright Express' Product Type Controls. Many new Wright Express customers see savings of up to 15% off fleet management costs, through better management of their fleet budget. Pump shutoff gives fleets one additional tool to tighten control over fleet expenses, and see additional savings over traditional payment methods.
