SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Champlain Oil will deploy Gilbarco Veeder-Root's suite of products at its locations across the Northeast to address proactively both indoor and forecourt Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) requirements.
With more than 100 gas-station and convenience-store sites in Vermont, New Hampshire and New York, Champlain Oil will use Gilbarco as its exclusive provider of EMV-ready dispensers, CRIND payment terminals, media applications and point-of-sale (POS) technology to help it get ahead of the 2015 and 2017 EMV liability shift deadlines.
In addition to deploying the Passport POS and Encore dispenser system across their network, Champlain Oil will roll out Applause TV, a gas pump media and consumer engagement platform that uses dynamic audio and video content from Verifone Media to enhance retailer promotions and drive repeat traffic through a heightened consumer experience. Champlain will be the first major retailer in Vermont to roll out media on its forecourt.
