bp pulse has opened an electric vehicle (EV) charging hub near San Francisco International Airport.

Located three miles from the airport, this site builds on bp’s mission to launch hubs near airports and other high-demand locations in collaboration with Hertz. These locations are aimed to appeal to rideshare drivers, airport EV renters and local EV owners, bp said.

  • bp America Inc. is No. 5 on CSP’s 2025 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.

The site features 12 ultrafast EV charging bays, each with a 400-kilowatt capacity. The site offers a mix of combined charging system (CCS) and North America Charging Standard (NACS) connectors. CCS connectors support both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) charging and are compatible with many electric vehicle models. NACS connectors are Telsa’s proprietary connectors, which also offer both AC and DC charging in one plug.

In April, bp pulse opened a charging hub near Boston Logan Airport, its first in Massachusetts. The Boston Gigahub, located at Hertz’s parking and maintenance facility, features 20 EV charging bays equipped with a mix of 400-kilowatt and 150-kilowatt DC fast chargers powered by utility provider Eversource.

Other bp pulse collaborations include hubs at Simon Properties sites, hubs at Laz parking sites and chargers at 50 Waffle House restaurants in Texas, Georgia, Florida and other locations in the South and Southeast. Additionally, bp pulse continues to install EV charging across sites in bp’s footprint of more than 8,000 retail locations, including TravelCenters of America, Thorntons and Amoco.

bp pulse has already installed 37,500 charging stations globally and is aiming to install 100,000 around the world by 2030. In the United States, it is working towards that goal by installing chargers at a number of sites in bp’s family of brands that, in total, have 8,000 locations across 46 states, including Amoco, ampm, Thorntons and TravelCenters of America.
