Also, Chevron launches motor oil upgrade promo

HOUSTON -- For the second year in a row, ConocoPhillips will partner with Hasbro to launch The Game of Life Giveaway promotion.

The promotion is scheduled to run from August 1 through September 30, in West Texas, New Mexico, Iowa and Nebraska. ConocoPhillips is giving consumers there a chance to win nearly $30,000 in cash and free gasoline and a 2005 Saturn SUV as the grand prize.

This year's promotion will be a mail-in register-to-win sweepstakes. Radio and station-level promotional materials will invite consumers to register [image-nocss] to win at a participating Conoco or Phillips 66 location. Ten consumers will win $500 in cash while another 800 will win $30 in Conoco or Phillips 66 Quality PROclean Gasoline, recognized as TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline.

We view this promotion as a great way to link our promotions with our advertising campaign Life Happens Between Empty and Full and further strengthen our message to consumers, said Natalie Oakes, manager of brand management for the Houston-based oil company.

Separately, Chevron Products Co., has announced its new "75,000 Miles & Counting" $3 upgrade promotion that will save consumers between $5 and $9 when they first upgrade to Chevron Supreme High Mileage or Havoline High Mileage Protection Motor Oil at participating Chevron-branded oil change facilities and Texaco Xpress Lubes in all 50 states.

The discount promotion, which begins in July and ends on Dec. 31, 2005, is for consumer vehicles that have accrued more than 75,000 miles.

"For the cost of a regular oil change plus our new discounted, $3 first-time upgrade, instead of the typical $8 to $12 upgrade, this promotion will save our customers money and breathe new life into high mileage engines," said Violet Anderson, installed motor oil manager, North America, Chevron Products Co, San Ramon, Calif.
