The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is launching a new ad campaign at hundreds of gas stations and convenience stores across the Midwest, focused on fuel prices and attempting to reach voters in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska.
This ad campaign will also run in communities with a large number of union households and at stores located on or near college campuses, the DNC said.
The ads call out what it says is Donald Trump’s “expensive Project 2025 agenda to hike costs on working Americans.”
Project 2025 is a political plan published by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, in 2023.
The DNC asserts that the “Trump-Vance ticket’s ultra-MAGA blueprint” would raise costs by about $7,600 each year, increase gas prices by up to 75 cents per gallon (CPG) while giving tax handouts to billionaires and big corporations.
The Trump campaign has disavowed any connection to the more than 900-page document. The Republican National Committee (RNC) did not immediately respond to a CSP request for comment on the ad campaign.

“With Election Day right around the corner, the stakes for hardworking Americans—and their wallets—have never been more clear. Donald Trump and JD Vance’s extreme Project 2025 agenda would rig the economy for the ultra-wealthy while jacking up gas prices by about 75 cents a gallon and adding thousands of dollars onto working families’ bills,” said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison. “Trump might’ve been handed a fortune on a silver platter by his daddy, but most of us have to work for a living. Vice President Harris is the only candidate in this race who understands the struggles working families face and will fight every day to make life more affordable.”
