Imperial Oil offering 15% bonus to cardholders that swap loyalty balances
CALGARY, Alberta -- Imperial Oil Ltd. (Esso) has begun a new promotion through a partnership with Points.com and Clearwave Communications. Customers can receive a 15% bonus in points when they swap point balances from major loyalty programs such as Aeroplan and HBC Rewards into their Esso Extra accounts.

This offer is available only by visiting http://clearwave.org/freegas. The offer expires November 30.

Esso Extra's program normally rewards customers with one point for every dollar that is spent at many Esso [image-nocss] gas stations. These points accumulate and can be redeemed for gasoline, food and more. Customers can enroll in the Esso Extra program online or at participating Esso stations.

The Esso-branded retail network contains almost 2,000 sites. Many of the sites include On the Run or Tiger Express-branded convenience stores, Tim Horton's outlets, Royal Bank automatic teller machines and car washes.

Calgary, Alberta-based Imperial Oil began in 1880, when 16 refiners in southwestern Ontario created The Imperial Oil Co. Ltd. It is one of Canada's largest corporations and a leading member of the country's petroleum industry. It is one of the country's largest producers of crude oil and natural gas and is the largest petroleum refiner and marketer with a coast-to-coast supply network that includes about 1,900 retail stations.
