Home Service Oil Debuts Reduced-Emissions Program

GreenPrint program would offset emissions from fuel and store purchases

BARNHART, Mo. -- Home Service Oil has partnered with GreenPrint LLC to provide carbon offsets for Express Mart customers’ fuel—and in-store—purchases.

The program, a partnership between Home Service Oil, GreenPrint and the Arbor Day Foundation, will launch in March 2018. Similar to GreenPrint’s reduced-emissions programs introduced at 7-Eleven, The Pride Stores and Ricker Oil, it would calculate the tailpipe emissions for every gallon and grade of gasoline sold at Express Mart locations. For the Home Service Oil program, GreenPrint would then invest in local, regional and global certified carbon-reduction projects to offset up to 30% of the corresponding emissions.

Two new elements in the Home Service Oil program will be carbon offsets for store purchases and wholesale fuel. GreenPrint told CSP Daily News that it is still finalizing the details for these two components, and plans to announce them along with the program’s official name “in the coming weeks.”

“As we continue to strengthen the Express Mart and Home Service Oil brand, we’re thrilled to partner with GreenPrint to support these efforts while making a community impact and giving back,” said Zach Mangelsdort, president of Home Service Oil, in a statement. “Our mission is to leave a lasting impact and keep our loyal customers, and our new program with GreenPrint will help us to do so.”

Home Service Oil Co., Barnhart, Mo., was founded in 1930. In addition to its chain of nine Express Mart stores in Jefferson and Washington counties, Home Service Oil supplies gasoline, diesel, heating oil, racing gas, jet fuel, automotive parts and bulk oil.

Atlanta-based GreenPrint’s programs with c-store chains, energy companies and corporate fleets are said to reduce emissions on nearly 500 million gallons of fuel each year across hundreds of retail locations and 80,000 corporate and municipal fleets in 11 countries.
