Introducing CSP Daily News’ Fuels Experts

Weekly columnists to provide insight on the forces and trends shaping the fuels business

CHICAGO -- CSP Daily News and Winsight LLC are debuting several new columnists this month to share insights and opinions on the entire fuel landscape.

They include:

Joe Petrowski, founder of investment firm Mercantor Partners LLC, Framingham, Mass., and former CEO of Cumberland Farms and Gulf Oil. Starting this week, Petrowski will offer his decades’ worth of experience in retail, fuel marketing and M&A to discuss not only larger trends shaping the oil industry but also thoughts on building and sustaining a successful convenience-store business.

Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis at Oil Price Information Service (OPIS), Wall, N.J. Kloza, who has more than 40 years’ experience covering everything from downstream to upstream, will provide his expertise and savvy viewpoint on the latest developments in the oil and fuels markets.

 

Norman Turiano, principal of Turiano Strategic Consulting LLC, Cape Coral, Fla., and former senior manager of fuel business development at Wawa. Turiano, a regular CSP Magazine columnist and a board member of the Fuels Institute, will bring his retailer’s perspective to the constantly shifting retail fuel business and emerging alternative fuels market.

Cathy Duncan, vice president, sales, downstream oil and gas for Schneider Electric, Houston. Duncan, who oversees supplier, terminal operation and wholesale distribution products at Schneider Electric (formerly DTN Telvent), will provide insights for marketers in fuel buying and pricing. 

 

Doug Haugh, president of Mansfield Oil Co., Gainsville, Ga. Haugh began his career at Exxon and co-founded FuelQuest, a provider of supply-chain management and tax automation solutions before going on to lead Mansfield. Haugh, who also is a Fuels Institute board member, will offer his perspective on the dynamics shaping the global energy industry and energy security.

They will be joining current CSP Daily News columnists:

Patrick DeHaan and Will Speer, senior petroleum analysts for GasBuddy, Boston. Patrick and Will, longtime CSP columnists, will continue to offer insight into the factors that direct the current and future ups and downs of pump prices in the United States.

Trilby Lundberg, publisher of The Lundberg Letter, Camarillo, Calif. Trilby provides regular, concise commentary on the state of gasoline prices and the direction of retail fuel margins.

Samantha Oller, senior editor and special projects coordinator for CSP Magazine. Samantha has covered the fuels beat for more than 12 years at CSP, writing on everything from underground storage tank regulations to the development of the hydrogen infrastructure. As author of the Fuels Forward blog, she will continue to offer her take on the evolving fuel product mix.
