LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Kwik Trip and GasBuddy are giving away thousands of dollars worth of gasoline this week to celebrate the Independence Day holiday.
On June 29, Kwik Trip will host a “Fuel Up for Freedom” GasBuddy Tank Takeover promotion at one of its sites in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market. Representatives from Kwik Trip and GasBuddy will reward customers who have downloaded and created a profile in the GasBuddy fuel-price app with up to $20 worth of free fuel per vehicle. The address of the Twin Cities Kwik Trip site hosting the event will be announced on Kwik Trip’s social media on June 29 at 7 a.m., and then reposted on GasBuddy’s social media.
Kwik Trip recently signed on to GasBuddy Business Pages, a business-to-business retailer software as a service (SaaS) that gives fuel marketers and retailers a way to share location information with customers, manage their brands and run promotions.
“At Kwik Trip it is always a pleasure to serve our guests. It will be even more enjoyable to provide some of those guests with free fuel during the holiday weekend,” said John McHugh, director of public relations for Kwik Trip, La Crosse, Wis. “By partnering with GasBuddy and subscribing to Business Pages, we're able to more effectively put our guests first.”
“Our annual GasBuddy Summer Travel survey found that more people will be traveling this Fourth of July weekend compared to previous years,” said Mike DiLorenzo, vice president of marketing for Boston-based GasBuddy. “Gas prices may be low right now, but nothing beats free.”
The Kwik Trip fuel giveaway is the latest Tank Takeover for GasBuddy, which first launched in the Twin Cities and has close to 70 million users of its app. Other Tank Takeovers have taken place in Charlotte, N.C.; Denver; Houston; Los Angeles; and San Diego. According to GasBuddy, the promotions typically draw “thousands” of customers.
Family-owned Kwik Trip Inc. has more than 550 Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Kwik Trip Express, Kwik Star Express, and Tobacco Outlet Plus Grocery stores in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.
