Lykins Energy Purchases Martin Oil

Acquisition fits energy company's regional growth plan

MILFORD, Ohio & BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- Lykins Energy Solutions has announced that it has purchased commercial and industrial fuels company Martin Oil Co. Inc., Buckhannon, W.Va.

This latest purchase is part of Lykins Energy's long-term growth plan. "We continue to look for top-quality companies to purchase in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia," said Lykins Energy president and CEO Jeff Lykins.

Martin Oil was founded in 1966 and was active in the community for nearly 49 years.

"We plan to keep that tradition alive as the new owners," he said. "Lykins Energy is proud to have the opportunity to purchase Martin Oil and bring all 14 employees into the Lykins Energy Solutions family. We look forward to serving Martin Oil's customers with the same dedication to quality and customer service that Martin Oil has provided for the last 49 years."

The company does not own or operate convenience stores or gas stations, a Lykins Energy spokesperson told CSP Daily News.

Lykins Energy Solutions (formerly Lykins Oil) is a family-owned and -operated business based in Milford, Ohio. The company was founded in 1948 by Guy Lykins Sr., and is now in the third generation of management. The company serves customers in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, as well as throughout the Midwest and the Southeast and provides products and services including branded fuels, wholesale fuels, commercial, transportation and home heating oil, propane, lubricants, fleet fueling, electricity and natural gas for Ohio. The company represents four major brands of fuel that it sells to independent gasoline dealers: BP, Marathon, Shell and Gulf.
