Mansfield Oil Honored

Named Finalist in 2008 Global Energy Awards

GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Mansfield Oil Co. has been named a finalist for the Global Energy Downstream Business of the Year Award. The prestigious award, presented for 10 years by Platts, recognizes industry leaders that embody a profile of “tight operational discipline, brilliant market understanding, strategic flexibility, and excellence in relationship management.”

Described as the “Academy Awards of energy,” the 10th annual Global Energy Awards is the most respected event of the year in the global-energy industry. This year, judges evaluated almost 200 entrants and [image-nocss] selected finalists based on criteria for each category, taking into consideration the company's profile and financial performance.

“It is a privilege to be honored as a finalist,” said Michael Mansfield, CEO of Mansfield, Gainesville, Ga. “This recognition validates the long-term results of our employees ' hard work and also highlights the friendships we 've enjoyed while performing for our customers and business partners. We mean to live up to the honor. Thus far in 2008, we have opened two new offices, doubled our revenues, and reinforced our focus on customer and partner relationships.”

Mansfield Oil is one of five finalists in the Downstream Business of the Year category, won last year by Valero Energy, San Antonio. The other finalists in this category include GAIL (India) Ltd., Indian Oil Corp. Ltd., MOL Nyrt., and Williams.

“We pride ourselves on working hard every day to manage the logistics and financial impact of today 's volatile petroleum market,” said Mansfield Oil president and COO J. More than 500 industry leaders from around the world will meet at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City for the awards ceremony on Dec. 3. Award judges hail from a broad spectrum of industry experience and include former OPEC energy ministers and national regulators, heads of energy companies, leading academics and energy politicians.
