Spatco Buys PetroTech

Acquisition marks fuel-equipment supplier’s fourth expansion in 18 months

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Spatco Petroleum Solutions has acquired fuel-equipment distributor PetroTech LLC.

This marks the fourth expansion in 18 months for Spatco Petroleum, a division of Spatco Energy Solutions and supplier of fuel equipment for brands including Wayne Fueling Systems, Veeder-Root, OPW and Husky. PetroTech LLC, Plantersville, Miss., is an authorized distributor of Wayne equipment. Its owner and president, Steven “Brad” Gilmore, will join Spatco as operations manager.

“Brad’s commitment to providing quality products and excellent customer service aligns well with our core values,” said Jeff Dailey, president and CEO of Spatco Energy. “Combining the strengths of Spatco with the experienced team of PetroTech will significantly enhance our opportunities to serve our customers in northeastern Mississippi.”

“Spatco’s inventory, training and expertise will vastly improve our ability to provide even better service to our customers,” said Gilmore.

Separately, Spatco Petroleum opened a new facility on April 24 in Memphis, Tenn. It complements the company’s July 2016 acquisition of Mid South Pump Sales and Service in Nashville.

With the acquisition of PetroTech and the new Memphis site, SPATCO now has operations in eight states: Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Virginia.

The Southern Pump & Tank Co. (Spatco), Charlotte, N.C., a Blue Ridge Industries company, has provided fuel equipment to the petroleum and industrial industry for nearly 90 years.
