Turner, Mason & Co. has named Tom Kloza as its senior associate and chief market analyst, according to a company LinkedIn post on Tuesday.

In his new role, the Dallas-based energy consulting and advisory firm said Kloza will provide frequent, ongoing commentary on current market developments, input to the company’s outlook teams on market drivers as they impact crude oil and speak at industry forums in his capacity as chief market analyst.

“Tom is a highly respected and influential figure in the oil industry, co-founding Oil Price Information Service (OPIS) in 1980 and dedicating nearly 50 years to analyzing oil markets from production to pump,” the company said.

In April, OPIS terminated Kloza as its chief oil analyst.

“I have not retired, resigned or quit, but I was terminated this morning at the company I founded—OPIS—this morning, and I won't comment on the circumstances,” Kloza said April 15 in a LinkedIn post.
