United Pacific Completes Sale of Fuel Delivery Fleet

Deal allows company to focus on wholesale customers, retail expansion

LOS ANGELES -- United Transportation Co. LLC, an affiliate of Apro LLC (doing business as United Pacific), a leading convenience store and gas station operator and fuel wholesaler, has completed the sale of its motor fuel delivery fleet to Sentinel Transportation LLC, a leader in the bulk truck transportation industry.

The companies did not disclose the terms of the transaction.

Along with the sale of the trucks, United Pacific awarded Sentinel a long-term delivery agreement that will enable United Pacific to concentrate on its network of gas stations and wholesale customers in the southern California region.

Joe Juliano, president and CEO of United Pacific, told CSP Daily News that the delivery fleet business was a small part of the company, but accounted for most of the risk and overall concern, so the sale was a natural move.

“We selected Sentinel as a strategic partner based on their superior commitment to safety, service and performance," Juliano said in a press release. "Sentinel will ensure we continue to bring exceptional delivery service to United Pacific’s southern California gas stations and family of dealers over the long term, which will enable United Pacific to focus on its core competencies and continued expansion.”

Earlier this year, United Pacific completed the acquisition of a portfolio of 251 gas stations and convenience stores located in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Colorado from Pacific Convenience & Fuels, bringing United Pacific’s network to 380 retail locations. Together with its network of over 100 dealers, United remains the largest independent convenience store and gas station operator in the western United States.

Los Angeles-based United Pacific, through its retail convenience locations and its retail and wholesale fuel distribution network, has established itself as one of the largest independent owners, suppliers and operators of gas stations and convenience stores in the western United States.

United Pacific offers motor fuels products under the 76, Conoco, Shell and United Oil flags and convenience-store items through the We Got It! Food Mart, My Goods Market, and Circle K brands. United Pacific operates its retail and wholesale businesses in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Colorado. The company is a portfolio business of Fortress Investment Group LLC, a leading, highly diversified global investment management firm.
