SAN ANTONIO -- Valero Energy Corp. has selected Acumera, a provider of trusted connection services for retail organizations, to provide wholesale customers with a suite of services to improve operational visibility and fuel inventory management.
According to Acumera CEO Dirk Heinen, Valero will offer branded distributors and dealers the following services through Acumera:
- Valero Convenience Store Connections Package: Connects store systems and delivers operational value through network automation, 24/7 device monitoring, customizable reporting and alerts and automatic tank gauge (ATG) integration.
- Valero Fuel Connections Service for Fuel Marketers and Jobbers: Improves inventory management with real-time data feeds for fuel sticks and monitoring that sends ATG alarms via email or text to managers, fuel buyers, commercial carriers and dealers, including an option for secure delivery of data to third-party fuel management systems.
"Valero is committed to providing unparalleled resources for its customers, and our services are a perfect addition to their toolbox," said Heinen. "By securely collecting, connecting and reporting valuable information about networks and devices in real time, these new offerings will give Valero-branded distributors and dealers the real-time insight they need to increase operational efficiency and save money."
As a part of the new relationship with Auston, Texas-based Acumera, Valero will handle frontline support to streamline the integration process for its customers. Acumera vice president of sales and marketing Tom Yemington confirmed that the Acumera team is ready to help Valero's customers solve challenges.
"Acumera has a long history in serving multi-site convenience store operators, as well as fuel marketers and refiners. As a result, we understand the unique requirements of Valero's wholesale customers," said Yemington. "Managing secure connections and delivering highly available operational visibility is more important than ever in this industry, and we're excited to be working with Valero to enhance their dealer and distributor programs."
In addition to network status, merchants have real-time insight into key operational measures, such as fuel inventory levels and environmental and food safety temperatures.
