Kangaroo Express’ Last Minute C-Store Holiday Shopping List

Six holiday picks under $10

CARY, N.C. -- Noting that it's easy to forget the little things while planning for the holidays, The Pantry convenience store chain Kangaroo Express prepared a list of last-minute products consumers may want to consider picking up at their local c-store when venturing over the river and through the woods.

“About 25% of all shopping visits to Kangaroo Express are to buy something urgently needed because a customer has either run out of or forgotten an item,” the chain reported.

Thus, “The Roo” put together this list of popular items and gift ideas that consumers can buy at Kangaroo Express on Christmas day (and any day before that) for under $10.

Batteries: Nine of the top 15 toys in this year's Toys "R" Us Holiday Hot Toy List require batteries. They're never included, but you always forget to buy them when you're at the store.

Coffee: This holiday season, nearly 49.6% of consumers plan to purchase at least one gift card (according to GiftCard.com). A $10 Kangaroo Express gift card will buy two weeks' worth of Bean Street Coffee. Wrap the gift card inside a refillable Roo Mug and their money will go even further.

Candy & Snacks: A great stocking stuffer, candy is small, loved by all and won't break the bank. Muffins and donuts are also crowd favorites and are the number one items purchased with a cup of Bean Street Coffee at Kangaroo Express.

Electronics: Forgot someone on your list? The Roo has you covered with ROBO Earphone Splitters for $9.99 and Holiday DVDs for $5. Or a RedBox DVD will keep the kids entertained on the long ride home. Splurge alert: Extreme RC Helicopters are also available this year for $30.

Beer & Wine: Don't arrive empty-handed! A six-pack of craft beer makes a great last-minute holiday host gift and has never been more popular. U.S. craft-beer sales rose 12% in volume terms in the first half of 2012, according to the Brewers Association.

Pick-me-up Beverage: Refuel and get yourself through the last leg of your trip. While energy drinks continue to gain popularity among Kangaroo Express customers, Bean Street Coffee is always a great choice. Between the Caramel Macchiato as the Cappuccino of the Month and new whipped topping coming to stores, no one would guess you only paid 99 cents for that Roo Mug refill.
