Kum & Go Offering Jackass Number Two Combo Deal

Online special offers DVD, t-shirt

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go LC is having its own DVD-release party for one of this year's top grossing movies.

Jackass Number Two, the sequel to 2002's Jackass, which spawned from the MTV show, opened nationwide on Sept. 22, 2006, and immediately rose to the top of the box-office charts. The movie grossed $11.4 million its opening night and outpaced all movies over its first weekend of release, bringing in $28.1 million. The movie remained no. 1 for its first week, and by the end of November the movie had grossed $72.6 million.[image-nocss]

In one segment, actor Johnny Knoxville is wearing a black Kum & Go t-shirt. In the scene Knoxville is testing security machines that shoot high-speed projectiles at suspected offenders.

This small amount of exposure has had a significant impact on Kum & Go's online merchandise sales, the company said. Since the movie premiered, hundreds of shirts, ball caps and mugs have been purchased on the website, with the most popular item being the black Kum & Go t-shirt.

Now the chain is taking the promotional concept a step further by offering a DVD-shirt combination for sale on its website for $30.

Kum & Go, a unit of Krause Gentle Corp., West Des Moines, Iowa, has more than 445 stores in 13 states: Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Colorado, Arkansas, Wyoming and Wisconsin.
