CHICAGO —CSP is now accepting nominations for its 2021 Category Manager of the Year awards. Now in its sixth year, the CMOY awards honor category managers who are leading by example and pushing the convenience-store industry forward.
Through Dec. 4, CSP is calling for retailer, supplier and wholesale partners to submit their nominations for the industry’s best category managers via this year’s CMOY Nomination Form.
Prospective CMOY nominees should meet the following criteria:
- Drive sales through innovative thinking with a sharp focus on data.
- Influence others within his or her company and the c-store industry.
- Have a deep understanding of their customers and markets.
- Foster meaningful relationships within the industry.
Nominees can be entered in the following categories:
- Behind the Counter (Tobacco, Vape, etc.)
- Center Store (Candy, Snacks, General Merchandise)
- Dispensed Beverages
- Packaged Beverages
“We are honored to recognize leaders making a difference in the c-store industry at the store level and beyond,” said CSP Director of Content Steve Holtz. “With the unprecedented changes brought about by COVID-19, category managers have had to become more adaptable to the demands of their supply chain partners than ever before. By showing continued resilience, successful category managers have led the way, positioning c-stores to see restored growth in 2021.”
The CSP editorial staff will carefully consider each nomination, with finalists announced for all categories in January. Voting on finalists by industry suppliers will then commence, with the winners of the CMOY Awards announced during the 2021 Convenience Retailing University. All winners will also be featured in the April issue of CSP magazine.
