S. Abraham & Sons to Host 9th Annual Foodservice Showcase

Event will feature 54 exhibitors showcasing more than 750 items

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Midwest convenience-store supplier S. Abraham & Sons Inc. (SAS) will host its ninth annual Foodservice Showcase on Aug. 16 at Blue Chip Resort & Casino in Michigan City, Ind. The show will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will feature 54 exhibitors showcasing more than 750 items, including BluTaco Tex-Mex from Pro Food Systems; Fruit Ridge Farms (FRF) gourmet pies, bakery racks and whole grain wedge sandwiches; Pillsbury stuffed waffles; and Totino’s foodservice pizza rolls. Each of these products is available through SAS.

This marks SAS’s first event since its annual trade show, which took place in February in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Also highlighted at the showcase will be SAS’s FreshBite Cafe—a concept that groups supplier’s foodservice offerings together, giving c-store operators the chance to offer healthy meals and snacks to customers. SAS programs featured in the FreshBite Cafe include the Hot Off the Grill roller-grill program, Fresh From the Deli cooler program and Beantown Coffee and Joe Coffee programs.

The company will also provide retailers the opportunity to see new equipment from dispensed beverage equipment manufacturer Bunn-O-Matic, including the Nitron 2—a nitrogen-infused cold-brew coffee maker.

SAS has collaborated with the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), a nonprofit aimed at combating child obesity, for the showcase. PHA items will be available for purchase from various manufacturers participating in the event.

In early July, Grand Rapids, Mich.-based SAS was acquired by Imperial Trading Co., a wholesale distributor based in Elmwood, La.
