United Oil Extends McLane Agreement

Distributor will continue to serve 92-store chain

GARDENA, Calif. -- United Oil Co. Inc. has extended its service agreement with McLane Co. Inc. United Oil is a family-owned fuel distributor and retailer operating more than 90 locations in the Southern California market.

According to Ron Appel, president of Gardena, Calif.-based United Oil, The service agreement with McLane extends an outstanding relationship and provides us the service and products we have counted on to continue to grow our business. Our stores' quality and presence reflect the importance of providing our customers with the best possible [image-nocss] purchasing experience, we know McLane feels the same way about United Oil.

United Oil has expanded in the Southern California market by differentiating its locations through a unique architectural quality and contemporary style and reflected in the substantial volume the locations generate. The United Oil store personnel also focus their efforts on customer service, the company said.

United Oil operates 92 stores throughout Southern California under the United Oil Food Mart name with multiple brands of gasoline.

Temple, Texas-based McLane, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., provides distribution services throughout the United States, delivering food and nonfood products to more than 50,000 customer locations, including the convenience store, drug store, mass merchandise, quick-service restaurant and movie theater industries. It operates 19 grocery distribution divisions and 18 foodservice distribution centers as well as an industry specific software company.
