Hatches distribution deal with Eby-Brown

LOMBARD, Ill. Convenience retailer White Hen Pantry Inc. has signed an agreement authorizing Eby-Brown as its distribution partner servicing both the White Hen franchisees and company-operated locations.

Eby-Brown's software suite, called Flower Power, is a technological support system allowing customers to manage their own pricebook, replenish cigarettes automatically and make planogramming and promotion decisions based on empirical data.

Consumers identify White Hen with first-rate, top-quality fresh products and that is the [image-nocss] hallmark of our brand, said Ted Beilman, Lombard, Ill.-based White Hen senior vice president for fresh foods. In support of that, Eby-Brown will provide each of our franchisees excellent store-door delivery services while also offering our entire company the expertise and decision support systems that will ensure our continued success for many years to come.

White Hen Pantry is a franchised chain of convenience stores that has been serving Chicago and greater Boston for 40 years. It is predominantly franchisee-owned and operated with more than 265 stores serving 250,000 customers each day. The stores offer a full line of products including custom-made sandwiches, deli items, salads, soups and coffee. White Hen also offers an automated touchscreen ordering system allowing customers to build their own sandwiches, including White Hen's Hot & Fresh Oven Toasted Sandwiches.
