Sheetz made significant changes to its foodservice program during the final months of 2017. In September, the Altoona, Pa.-based chain launched its Kidz Mealz platform, featuring various kid-friendly items such as chicken strips, hot dogs and miniature burgers. Three months later, the chain implemented voice-ordering capabilities for pickup orders through Amazon’s Alexa device.

Consumers rate the c-store’s sandwiches as the most craveable item. However, Sheetz customers are also fans of the chain’s mozzarella sticks and Wisconsin Cheese Bites, which come with a choice of 13 dipping sauces, including Boom Boom Sauce, Habanero Sauce and Dr Pepper BBQ. Its full menu contains a variety of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, pizzas and more. With Sheetz snack menu and foray into more frictionless ordering methods, the retailer can appeal to on-the-go consumers. “It was fast, it was tasty, and I didn't have to leave my car,” said one consumer who classifies the mozzarella sticks as craveable.
