CEFCO Begins CMN Fund-Raising Effort

C-store chain has raised more than $2.1 million for sick, injured kids

SALT LAKE CITY and TEMPLE, Texas -- CEFCO Convenience Stores in six states will be raising funds March 5 through April 30 for vital pediatric equipment, treatments, therapy programs and charitable care to benefit local sick and injured kids through the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Beginning tomorrow, CEFCO employees are rallying to help their nearest CMN Hospital by asking customers to "purchase" a $1 Miracle Balloon paper icon. Each donation at the register will be rewarded with $1 off a sandwich/drink combo.

CEFCO has raised more than $2.1 million for local sick and injured kids since partnering with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. In 2013, CEFCO had a 40% increase in campaign totals for CMN Hospitals. In addition to its eight-week Miracle Balloon campaign, the convenience store chain hosts an annual golf tournament at its headquarters in Temple, Texas to benefit the charity. The campaign will includes CEFCO stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

As with all Children's Miracle Network Hospitals register fundraisers, all donations stay local.

CEFCO is an independently owned chain of convenience stores based in Temple, Texas, with sites in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals raises funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada. Donations stay local to fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care.

Since 1983, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $5 billion, most of it $1 at a time, through the charity's Miracle Balloon icon. Its various fundraising partners and programs support the nonprofit's mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
