C.N. Brown Launches Fall MDA Program

CITGO Fueling Good Road Trip Team to attend customer appreciation event

SOUTH PARIS, Maine-- CITGO marketer C.N. Brown Co. and Big Apple Food Stores are launching the "Apple of Our Eye" program, selling paper apples for $1 from Sept. 1 through Oct. 12 with all proceeds going to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). As an added bonus, each customer who purchases an "Apple of Our Eye" mobile will be automatically entered into a raffle to win one of 25 Apple iPad2s.

C.N. Brown will conduct one drawing per sales territory in late October, so that customers across Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont will have a chance to win.

To help promote the campaign, C.N. Brown will host a customer appreciation event on Sept. 14 at the Big Apple Food Store in Oxford, Maine. The CITGO Fueling Good Road Trip with Adam and Diego will be at the station from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. welcoming customers and giving away prizes. Bess the Book Bus will be on site from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with free books for children.

"We know that it's our customers that keep us in business. Since they are the apple of our eye, this promotion seemed like the perfect way to give back to them, while also helping MDA," said Jinger Duryea, president of C.N. Brown. "We are excited that the Fueling Good Road Trip and Bess the Book Bus will also help raise awareness for the campaign and for the wonderful mission of MDA."

All proceeds from the six-week promotion will benefit families in Maine to provide support, counseling, treatment and research into neuromuscular diseases. C.N. Brown is one of the largest supporters of the MDA within the CITGO network, raising nearly $4.5 million through company-sponsored events over the past 28 years.

It is the owner of Big Apple Food Stores, Red Shield heating oil locations and independently operated gasoline stations across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. The more than 900 C.N.
