Sheetz Fetes Vets With Free Food, Beverages, More

Veterans Day offer includes turkey sub, fountain drink, car wash with ID

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Convenience-store chain Sheetz Inc. is among the convenience-store industry companies showing their gratitude for veterans and active-duty military personnel this Veterans Day. On Wednesday, Nov. 11, Sheetz invites all veterans and current servicemen and women to enjoy a free six-inch turkey sub and a regular-size fountain drink at all Sheetz locations by presenting a military ID or proof of service.

They can also receive a free car wash.

"Supporting the military community is important to the Sheetz family and our organization; we hope our veterans and active-duty military will join us on Veterans Day as a way for us to say thank you for their service." said Joe Sheetz, CEO of Sheetz. "We are thankful to have the opportunity on Veterans Day to show our appreciation for military personnel who have selflessly sacrificed for us."

In addition, Sheetz has been a proud supporter of Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), contributing more than $250,000 to help IAVA provide free transitional programs to veterans. IAVA is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to improving the lives of new vets and their families.

Celebrating its 11th year anniversary, IAVA is a leading post-9/11 veteran empowerment organization (VEO) with a diverse and rapidly growing membership.

For the past three years, Sheetz locations have offered $1 dog tag magnets for purchase to benefit IAVA. The purchase of theses magnets will provide critical assistance to allow IAVA's innovative health, education, employment and community programs to reach as many of the 2.8 million new veterans as possible.

Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz is one of America's fastest growing family-owned and operated convenience store chains, with more than $6.9 billion in revenue and more than 16,000 employees.
