2 Historic Milestones for Love’s

On track for opening its most locations in one year as it crosses a new threshold

OKLAHOMA CITY -- With the opening of a new Love’s Travel Stop in South Holland, Ill., Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores surpasses 400 locations, and it expects by the end of December to set a record for annual site openings.

The company reached this milestone during a year of tremendous growth. So far in 2016, Love’s has opened 37 locations and added more than 2,200 truck-parking spaces across 15 states. The company is on track to end 2016 with adding 50 new stores, which will be the most locations opened in a single year in the chain’s history.

“We’ve come a long way from our first filling station in Oklahoma in 1964, to now having more than 400 stores in 40 states. We wouldn’t have experienced such growth without our loyal customers and we’re honored to serve them with ‘clean places, friendly faces’ nationwide. We’ll keep looking for new ways, and new locations, to serve them,” said Greg Love, co-CEO of Love’s.

Love’s new store in South Holland, its 401st location, is open 24/7. It features a Hardee’s restaurant, 88 truck-parking spaces, seven showers, a Love’s Truck Tire Care facility and other driver services, along with coffee, food, snacks and other convenience-store and truckstop merchandise.

“As we’ve expanded, we’ve tried to step up our level of overall highway hospitality,” he said. “In addition to adding more stores, we’ve also looked at other ways we can help our customers. That evaluation has resulted in expanding our tire-care services, offering factoring services, a growing hotel business and more. Reaching 400 locations is just one of many more milestones we hope to achieve.”

In September, Love’s announced that it is expanding its truck maintenance program at all travel-stop locations nationwide to include additional services to existing truck tire care and light mechanical options. The additional maintenance offering focuses on oil changes to the motor, transmission and gear boxes and is complemented by preventive maintenance services including fluid levels, fluid and filter quality checks and lube services.

This year, Love’s has invested in its truck tire-care program featuring expanded tire sales selection, including a new retread program, and TirePass services for on-site tire maintenance across the country.

Oklahoma City-based Love’s is celebrating passing the 400-store mark by giving customers opportunities to win My Love Rewards points, Michelin steer tires and Love’s gift cards. Starting Nov. 11, 100 My Love Rewards members will win $400 worth of points. Customers swipe their loyalty cards at any Love’s location to find out if they are one of 25 winners who will randomly be selected to win each week. My Love Rewards members can also swipe their cards at any Love’s store to be entered into a drawing to win one of four sets of Michelin steer tires.

And Love’s customers who show how they are celebrating 400 locations on Love’s Facebook, Twitter or Instagram accounts using the #Loves400 hashtag are eligible to win one of four $100 Love’s gift cards.

The giveaways run through Dec. 10.
