The deal "extends the reach of our East & Gulf Coast Fuels Value Chain from Florida all the way to New Hampshire," added Dean.
Executives with East Providence, R.I.-based Green Valley Oil said that they have much to gain from BP's brand power. "We're looking forward to being a part of BP's venture into Providence," Oleg Aliferov, president of Green Valley Oil, said in a statement cited by the Business News. "The BP brand has a lot to offer, from strong, exciting marketing programs to supplying the quality fuels that consumers demand for their vehicles."
BP currently operates more than 10,000 U.S. stations east of the Rocky Mountains and an additional 2,000 stations on the West Coast under its Arco brand. Overall, Warrenville, Ill.-based BP Products North America provides the U.S. 15 billion gallons of consumer and commercial gasoline a year.
