SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -- William Simendinger, vice president of the Champlain Farms (Wesco Oil) convenience store chain, died July 14, 2014, of a heart attack at the age of 52.
He also served as the company's attorney.
His brother, David Simendinger, is president, and his sister, Kathy Sarvak, is also a vice president at the company.
David Simendinger said Bill was the driving force behind the company's success in navigating licensing issues in Vermont and New Hampshire.
The South Burlington, Vt.-based company owns and operates 39 convenience store locations in 25 communities throughout Vermont and New Hampshire under the Champlain Farms, Fastop and several other flags. The gas stations offer Shell, Gulf and Sunoco fuels. The sites offer Dunkin' Donuts, Subway, Quiznos and Chester's Chicken for foodservice.
