As reported in a 21st Century Smoke/CSP Daily News Flash, Hanley will continue to serve in his current role as chief operating officer.

Handley has been with the company for more than 33 years and has served in various capacities including director of marketing, vice president of foodservice and senior vice president of store operations. The board named him COO in June 2006.

"Terry has demonstrated tremendous leadership throughout his tenure at Casey's," said chairman and CEO Robert J. Myers. "Our customers, employees and shareholders have benefited greatly from his retail experience over the years, and his guidance will be valuable as the company continues to grow throughout the Midwest."

Along with chairman and CEO, Myers has also held the titles of president and COO. In June 2006, he became president and CEO, succeeding the departing Ronald Lamb. The board then promoted Handley to the COO position. The board designated Myers as chairman in July 2012.

Ankeny, Iowa-based Casey's operates c-stores in 14 Midwestern states, primarily Iowa, Missouri and Illinois. It also operates one standalone pizza delivery and carryout store. On Jan. 31, 2014, Casey's operated 1,783 corporate stores.
