DALLAS – In a major restructuring of its executive team, 7-Eleven has found its replacement for Darren Rebelez, who stepped down more than one year ago.
In an internal memo obtained by CSP Daily News, 7-Eleven has named Chris Tanco, most recently the company’s executive vice president of 7-Eleven’s international business, as COO and executive vice president of the retailer’s North American business. He will report to CEO Joe DePinto.
“In his new capacity, Chris will continue to report to me and will remain on the executive committee,” DePinto said in the internal memo. Tanco, who has held the senior vice president rank of the company’s international division since 2012, will retain his role as director of 7-Eleven Mexico.
He assumes the role vacated by Rebelez, who stepped down in October 2014.
In other high-level personnel moves:
- Brad Jenkins, a retail veteran of 47 years who most recently has worked as 7-Eleven’s senior vice president of U.S. store operations, will retire effective Jan. 4, 2016. “I want to sincerely thank Brad for his many significant contributions to our business,” DePinto said in the memo. “He has been a great colleague and friend, and we’ll miss not working with him on a daily basis.” Jenkins and his wife plan to relocate to New Orleans.
- Moving into Tanco’s executive role of 7-Eleven’s international business is Ena Williams, who spent the past year working with Tanco and previously managed 7-Eleven’s western U.S. operations. Williams will report directly to DePinto and join the company’s executive committee.
Dallas-based 7‑Eleven Inc. operates, franchises or licenses approximately 10,700 7‑Eleven convenience stores in North America. Globally, there are more than 57,500 7‑Eleven c-stores in 17 countries.
