MIAMI -- Farm Stores is partnering with SG Blocks Inc., a designer and fabricator of container-based structures, on a planned "sizable" rollout of franchise-based drive-thru convenience stores.
SG Blocks is designing an “eco-friendly” 640-square-foot drive-thru store that will allow Farm Stores to undertake an aggressive new store campaign.
The Farm Stores concept is a hybrid of a grocery store, bakery and quick-service restaurant (QSR) where consumers can purchase products without having to leave their cars.
"These stores will be efficiently designed as fully modular prefabricated units to aid franchisees in rapid site activation, helping them more easily establish Farm Stores locations in new neighborhoods,” said Paul Galvin, chairman and CEO of SG Blocks

The firm offers a product that exceeds many standard building code requirements, it said, and also supports developers, architects, builders and owners in achieving greener construction, faster execution, and stronger buildings of higher value. It has four product lines: retail, commercial, military and residential. SG Blocks also has an exclusive 10-year collaboration and supply contract with ConGlobal Industries Inc., the largest shipping container depot operator in the United States.
