High’s Celebrates 90th Anniversary

Sweepstakes, 90-cent deals running through September

BALTIMORE -- Convenience-store retailer High’s of Baltimore LLC will celebrate 90 years in business this summer, starting with a Summer Sweepstakes from July 2 through Sept. 31.

“High’s is very excited to celebrate 90 years in business with our origins in dairy stores and ice-cream shops to today’s modern convenience store with foodservice,” said Brad Chivington, vice president and general manager of the chain. “Our customers and associates have made this possible, and we want to celebrate with them.”

High’s will host monthly sweepstakes drawings through September. Customers have a chance to win free coffee for a month, free fountain for a month, free ice cream for a year, concert tickets, TVs and grills.

In addition to the sweepstakes, High’s will host a 90th Anniversary Celebration Weekend, with single-scoop ice-cream cones for 90 cents from July 26 to July 29.

High’s will offer a different 90-cent promotion each week to celebrate the company’s 90-year commitment to its customers, including deals on fountain, fountain refills, coffee, roller grill, select snacks and candy, ice-cream pints, select beverages, milkshakes and more.

Throughout the summer, High’s will host a series of events to promote the sweepstakes and the chain’s dedication to its customers. High’s will kick of their summer festivities on July 12 at High’s in Ellicott City, Md.

A highlight of the event will be a check presentation to the American Red Cross benefitting those affected by the Ellicott City flooding earlier this year. High’s is donating 10 cents for every fountain soda that was purchased in June along with donations customers make at High’s locations. It is also holding a “Scratch & Scoop” event with WBAL/98 Rock and The Maryland Lottery.

High’s, ranked at No. 139 in CSP's 2018 Top 202 list of c-store chains by number of company-owned retail outlets, now has 46 c-stores with 500 employees.
