Lou Perrine’s to Open Second Location

Single-store ‘indie influencer’ remodeling former Mobil station

KENOSHA, Wis. -- Single-store convenience retailer Lou Perrine’s Gas & Groceries is adding a second c-store and gas station in Kenosha, Wis., Anthony Perrine announced on Facebook.

“Just about 30 minutes ago, we finalized the deal with the city of Kenosha to take over this eyesore located on 80th and 22nd,” he said in a video at the store on July 6. “This old, busted-up Mobil is going to get revamped, taken over and made Lou Perrine’s No. 2.”

The site has been closed for about 10 years, he said. Perrine gave his Facebook audience a tour of the new location, inside and out, “so you can see the before and then the after.”

Perrine said the new store will open in six to 12 months.

“As you can tell, I’ve got my hands full,” he said. “We are going to make it look brand-new, just like our store on 52nd and Sheridan. We’re going to honor our name, honor our community.”

In 1954, Lou Perrine Sr. started a small, full-service Clark gas station in Kenosha. Lou Perrine Jr. entered the business during his high school years. In 2008, Lou Jr.’s eldest son, Anthony, entered the family business.

CSP named Anthony Perrine as one of its 2017 "Indie Influencers" for this familial and community spirit, as well as for the retailer’s experimentation with delivery. The high-volume gas station and c-store is also known for selling produce, Wisconsin cheese and Mama P’s HoHo Cakes.
