Pantry Names Largemouth PR Agency of Record

Developing public relations strategy, implementing programs to promote Fresh Initiative
CARY, N.C. -- The Pantry Inc. has selected Largemouth Communications Inc., a full-service public relations firm, as the convenience company's public relations agency. The Pantry, known for its Kangaroo Express operating banner, is a leading independently operated convenience store chain in the southeastern United States and one of the largest in the nation with more than 1,600 stores across 11 states.

Largemouth is developing the public relations strategy and implementing programs to promote The Pantry's new Fresh Initiative and provide additional corporate public relations [image-nocss] support. The Fresh Initiative introduces customers to an improved great-tasting Bean Street Coffee and new fresh food options in a fast, friendly and clean store environment. In additional to national trade media campaigns, Largemouth is developing local media relations campaigns in Raleigh, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Gainesville, Fla. for the initial launch of the program. More than 100 stores will launch the program before the end of the calendar year, and all 1,642 stores by 2011.
