Parker’s Hires Real Estate Project Manager

Mathewes will continue to help c-store chain expand footprint in South Carolina

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Convenience-store retailer Parker’s has hired real estate expert Thomas Mathewes as the company’s new real estate project manager in Charleston, S.C. In his new position, Mathewes is project manager for all new Parker’s stores in the greater Charleston area, overseeing site acquisition and entitlement.

Mathewes has five years of commercial real estate brokerage experience, working closely with retailers, investors and developers. He previously worked with Parker’s as an associate broker while with The Peninsula Co., where he used his knowledge and experience with land use, zoning and the municipal process to identify strategic sites for the c-store chain to expand its footprint in South Carolina.

“Thomas has a deep understanding of Charleston’s commercial real estate market,” said Parker’s President and CEO Greg Parker. “His expertise is vital as we expand the Parker’s brand, bringing our fast, fresh, friendly service and our award-winning Southern-inspired food to the greater Charleston area.”

Earlier in his career, Mathewes was the vice president of Charted Commercial Group and a broker associate with Roadstead Real Estate Advisors, both based in Charleston. He is a licensed Realtor in Georgia and South Carolina and a member of the The Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Council and the Preservation Society of Charleston.

With headquarters in Savannah, Ga., Parker’s has 53 c-stores in southeast Georgia and South Carolina. The stores feature Parker’s Kitchen foodservice, PumpPal loyalty program and the Fueling the Community Program. Parker's is No. 128 in CSP's 2018 Top 202 ranking of c-store chains by number of company-owned retail outlets.
