Pilot Flying J Buys Two Pa. Truckstops

Acquires former All American sites in Duncannon, Myerstown

DUNCANNON  & MYERSTOWN, Pa. -- Pilot Flying J has purchased two former All American Truck Stops in Pennsylvania, located in Duncannon and Myerstown. The truckstops were sold as part of a receiver-ordered auction on November 9, 2011, in a deal valued in excess of $5 million.

The Clarks Ferry Truck Stop (Duncannon) is situated along heavily traveled Highway 322. In addition to offering six-lane Pilot-branded diesel fueling and three Shell-branded multipump dispensers (MPDs) for gasoline, the property amenities also include an Iron Kettle Restaurant, Subway, convenience store and barbershop on 10 acres of land.

Located on Interstate 78 between Harrisburg and Allentown, the Frystown property (Myerstown, is a 56-acre site, only 20 of which are currently being used for the truckstop. Currently onsite are an Iron Kettle Restaurant, 11-lane Pilot-branded diesel fueling operation, truck service and repair operation, an 18-room motel, a convenience store, office space and a warehouse.

Dallas-based Annandale Real Estate, a privately owned commercial real-estate and advisory company that specializes in small-format real estate, partnered with Ziegler Auctioneers, Hummelstown, Pa., on the transaction.

Pilot Flying J, Knoxville, Tenn., has more than 550 retail locations across North America. It is also one of the nation's largest wholesale fuel providers, delivering more than 500 million gallons of fuel to thousands of customers in 47 states and eight Canadian provinces.
