Meyer, Brady, Linke receive honors

HINSDALE, Ill. -- Royal Buying Group Inc. (RBG) presented its Vendor of the Year award to U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co.'s key account manager, Tom Meyer. RBG presented its Wholesale Distributor of the Year award to McLane Co.'s director of sales, Steve Brady. And it presented its Direct Store Delivered Vendor of the Year award to Red Bull's national account manager, Scott Linke.

When I decide who should win vendor of the year,' I think of what vendor has addressed the c-store industry, been at the top of their category, and who provides complete category [image-nocss] management, said Christine Brown, RBG director of vendors. U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. has been a leader in these criteria and a consistent top performer and strong partner in RBG programs.

According to Michael Zielinski, RBG's President and CEO, McLane Co. has continued to provide state of art data reporting to [RBG] on behalf of its members. In order to maximize rebates and increase RBG member's profits, accurate and efficient data transmissions are crucial. McLane company's attention to detail and prompt downloads have been very helpful.

And Sharon Porter, RBG's director of business development, said, Red Bull has participated with RBG each year since our inception in 1995, and each year RBG has been able to build stronger energy drink programs within the packaged beverage category.

All winners were honored at the Royal Buying Group's annual program kickoff reception held in February in Oak Brook, Ill.

RBG, headquartered in Hinsdale Ill., is a national organization dedicated to maximizing sales and profitability of convenience store and petroleum locations.
